Summer at Home in Düsseldorf
Finally, relax in a deck chair while drinking a Cocktail, enjoying the sunset, listening to chilled-out music, having a bite to eat, and forgetting the worries of everyday life.
We feel the same way when, once again as part of our kukki & friends series, we set off to visit some old friends. Today, we’re heading to Düsseldorf! And which river flows through the city? You’ve probably guessed it already: the Rhine!
So it’s no surprise that the Heimatsommer Rheinpark project is located on its banks. Here, we meet Martin, who tells us more about his passion project.
Heimat Summer in the Rhine Park in Düsseldorf
Martin - Organizer
"Once people get a taste for it, they stick with it!"

Rheinpark is divided into two areas. The upper area features the meadow with the cultural stage, hosting acts such as Dieter Nuhr and ‚Kassala‘, as well as local bands like ‚Porno Alforno‘, to get every laughing muscle and dancing leg moving.
The lower area has a real holiday atmosphere. The beach club has everything to make every sun worshipper’s heart beat faster: comfortable loungers, a parasol, sand between your toes, and cool drinks. Children who have worked up an appetite for a cold ice cream from running around in the sun are catered for too. And what about those cool drinks?
Martin only vaguely remembers seeing us for the first time at the Discocontact trade fair. He kept our card in his pocket and our drinks at the back of his mind—until this wonderful project got underway. The concept was clear: serve as few drinks as possible in glasses, have plenty of bottles so everything moves quickly, and ensure everyone gets their drink as quickly as possible.
