The Story

"Cool, finally warm beer!" – probably no one has ever said that. And that's exactly why the crazy idea was born in 2014 to develop a cocktail with ice directly in the bottle – back then, it was still a completely absurd concept for many.

What started with nothing quickly became a real project. Sepp and Saif founded kukki GmbH, and a few months later, Andy joined them – together they began the development and market launch.

The first years were entirely focused on product development: How do you put ice in a bottle without it bursting when frozen? What does a cocktail taste like without preservatives – but with a long shelf life? It wasn't until 2020 that our product was ready for a large-scale launch. Since 2022, we have also been producing in our own hall in the Wustermark industrial area near Berlin.

While many initially thought it could never work, Saif and Andy set off with a trunk full of kukki bottles & kukki Toaster – directly to the first restaurateurs, beer gardens, and beach clubs. Today, they stand at the helm of a company that was built from scratch and now generates several million euros in annual revenue.

With over 12,000 kukki Toaster placed in the market, thousands of partner supermarkets alone in Germany, and nearly 35 permanent employees, we have sustainably scaled our growth. What once started as a bold idea is now a patented process with over 7,000 active B2B customers and a production that attracts attention across Europe. kukki proves: The craziest ideas are often the best – if you just believe in them and implement them with passion.

What actually happens behind the scenes at kukki ? The longest bar in the world, a handful of bartenders mixing the best cocktails in the city in shifts – we don’t have that. We apologize for the disappointment. Nevertheless, a lot is done by hand in our production facility.

From the rough diamond to the <tc>kukki Cocktail</tc>

Standing perfectly straight and in line, the bottle preforms are ready to embark on their journey to your freezer. Using a crane, they are transferred from a pallet to the conveyor belt. Subsequently, the bottles are labeled with the kukki label. Only genuine with the igloo 😉

From there, they undergo a rinsing cycle for the final cleaning of the bottle interior. For this, they are guided upside down in a circular motion over the water system by robotic arms. Some machines resemble a carousel at a fair. Fun in production, fun in enjoyment! 

In the next step, the cylindrical ice is precisely portioned into the bottles. Our production process is timed accurately, as the ice should retain its shape and not melt. Fresh ingredients like mint leaves or lime pieces are then added by hand. The cocktail bottles are quickly filled.You ascend a carousel-like platform and return to the conveyor belt, filled with the kukki cocktail mix of high-quality alcohol, liqueurs, and fruit juices. They are sealed with crown caps by machine.

This is followed by concentrated manpower – our team manually packs the kukki Cocktail into boxes and transports them to the cooling system. There, the high-quality ready-to-drink cocktails are cooled down to -18°C   and frozen. Once they are frozen, they are ready for delivery.

We are so proud of the development of the kukki Cocktails. From the parental farm workshop to such a scale. A lot of passion, sweat, perhaps even a tear or two, discarded plans, and successful implementations are invested in our production machines.

Back then, the ice was still crushed with a hammer to fit into the bottles – today it is pressed in a patented process to be extremely solid and in cylindrical shape.

Like everything else from kukki Cocktail , our innovative ice is produced on-site by us and directly bottled.

Function in the bottle

Through our special and unique process, we can offer long-lasting cold and less watery cocktails. Our ice remains frozen for well over half an hour, even on the sunniest summer days.
